Midlands based duo Andy Burley and Steve Roberts aka Filthy Habits are currently rated as one of the best jump up collectives with their high octane dancefloor sounds and techy influences, from humble beginnings they started producing in 2009 under the guises Illusion and Switchdoctor. Being Cousins and both having a huge passion for Drum and Bass they quickly formed a production partnership they started from the bottom and worked hard in the studio quickly gaining recognition from Birmingham promotion Raveology and earned a DJ residency to boot! In 2013 they got their first release on G13 sister label Smokescreen, this proved to be a foot in the door for the G13 camp and later on that year they had their debut release with ‘No Cure’ and ‘Walk The Walk’. Both tracks charted highly in download charts and fans of the label started paying attention to their music. When G13’s 5 year album was released it featured Filthy Habits track ‘Times Up’, the duo were really creating a unique and trademark sound and releases with Belgium label Gun Audio and Belgium bookings surfaced, Filthy habits were going places! in 2014 they remixed Turno’s rolling stomper ‘Boiling Point’ in the way they only know how with an expert take on the track, coupled up with a cheeky VIP of their track ‘No Cure’ which was a big hit in the clubs! Later that year they caught the eye of MC Eksman who scouted them for his new talent event ‘Next Hype’ and the lads have been regulars ever since. Look out for future releases on G13 soon from Filthy Habits!
